Welcome to the Southleigh House website. Southleigh House is a thatched property set in grounds of approximately half an acre in the Suffolk village of Hundon about three miles from Clare. The gardens are opened to charity, both under the National Gardens Scheme and for other charities.

 

The garden at Southleigh was originally laid out in the 1970s but it is a garden under development. It has been created entirely by the owners who maintain the garden themselves. 

 

The owners welcome visitors to the garden on Open Days and will be opening the garden again under the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday 24 June 2012. 

 

In 2011 the garden opened on 26 June for the Hundon Open Gardens event and also on 3 July when it opened for charity under the National Gardens Scheme.  On Saturday 13 August  a Busking Cancer musical charity event was held in the garden in aid of Cancer Research UK.  There is more about this event on the Busking for Cancer  page but we would like to extend our deep appreciation to all those who joined us on the day as well as to those who have made donations, whether by cash, cheque or via our just giving website.  We have already exceeded our target.  Total monies raised to date are nearing £3,000 - please see www.justgiving.com/Mike-Laycock/.
